The I Am Academy provides young men and women with a life changing experience, which empowers, encourages, and enables them to develop needed social-emotional tools and academic confidence for success in school and beyond.
The I Am Academy (TIAA) provides pathways to self-sufficiency through active interventions in reducing the rate of recidivism, school retention, and work readiness among young African American and Latino men and women.
TIAA’s goal is to empower African American, Latino, Indigenous and other marginalized young adults in the Tri County area (Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties) by providing culturally specific services that address the barriers they face in society today and equip them with the necessary skills to become positive members of the community.
TIAA believes that through culturally specific services, young men of color can and will obtain the tools needed to become the men and women of tomorrow.
